Affiliate Marketing is one of the easiest ways for newbies to start making money online. The only problem is that due to a lack of marketing knowledge, they can make something as simple as product review articles into something that is not only a pain in the butt to write, but the arduous hours you spend on it also don’t pay off. This article will not focus on ranking articles. It will focus more on making product review articles as relevant as possible so that people you are targeting are more likely to click through your affiliate link and buy on the other end. Three tips are to use the product, to be honest in your review and at the end of this article, writing a product review article should be an easier process and you should start seeing those affiliate commissions you so richly deserve sitting in your account.
1. Use it!
This is how 90% of newbie affiliate marketers start off for the first time, immediately sabotaging their chances of making money online. They go to a digital product market place like ClickBank.com and start familiarising themselves with the interface. They find a product that looks remotely interesting and, seeing that the product offers a 75% commission on a $97 product, their eyes light up and they immediately start writing product review articles on it.
Can you see the problem here? What do you think is going to be the problem with those articles? If you’ve dabbled in Affiliate Marketing or have been there and done that, you will know that this is a common mistake and is not the way to go. Honestly, the best and easiest way to start making money online with product review articles is to identify a problem you have yourself, find a product that solves that problem, buy the product, use it, then write a product review on it. Sounds pretty straight-forward, doesn’t it? Yet nobody does this!
2. Be honest!
It’s definitely important to be honest. You shouldn’t have to sell a piece of your soul to the devil to make an honest living online. Don’t promote a product you didn’t buy, claiming it does things it doesn’t. Not only will it sound contrived and not only is it obvious, but you will be just like those annoying spammers that everyone hates.
Something else which happens is that people purchase products, they try it out, finding out that it’s actually a sub-standard product, but because the commission’s high, they still go on to promote it like it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
The final example that causes poor product review articles to be created is buying a product, using it, and then finding out it’s too complicated to use yourself, but still mindlessly singing the virtues of it, simply because all the other affiliates are doing so. The only difference here is that even the product might actually work, if you don’t understand it how to make it work for you, how are you going to convince others that it works?
3. Be passionate!
Have you heard about the people who say that they’ve never worked a day in their life because their jobs revolves doing what they love doing? Affiliate Marketing and writing product review articles should mirror this. How much easier is it writing about something that you’re passionate about over something that might have a higher commission, but you think is the most boring thing in the world?
Personally, I am quite passionate about Internet Marketing, even though I’m not crash hot at it. An interest of mine is building muscle, but it isn’t a passion of mine. If I write an article promoting a muscle building product as opposed to an Internet Marketing product, which one do you think will sound more sincere? Chances are, if you’re passionate about it, there will also be other people who are passionate about it as well, ie. buyers.
And the best thing is, because it’s something you can write about all day long, you won’t mind if you don’t make any money from it. Since you love writing about the topic so much, the passion you feel for the subject matter will shine through, like-minded readers will relate better to your article, they will form a relationship with you and will trust you, meaning they will be more inclined to purchase from you. They won’t see you as a salesperson; they’ll see you as a friend.
Trust is the holy grail of Internet Marketing. Just ask yourself this one question if you’re looking to promote a product online: “is it something that you’d still be comfortable promoting knowing you’d be getting no commissions for it? Be honest with yourself!
Hopefully this has cleared up some things for you. Don’t turn yourself into a salesperson. You can sell just as you are. All you have to be is an honest, regular person with regular, solvable problems.
